Many students have visited Hoi Ha Marine Life Centre to explore the wonders of our marine environment. Some of them have prepared photos and feedbacks about their experiences. If you would also like to share what you have learned with others, please send your work to our education team at ihcsc@wwf.org.hk.

Photograph

Wow...there are so many organisms
on the rock surface!
Our first time to visit
Hoi Ha Wan Marine Park.
I've never imagined observing coral
in such close distance. The glass-bottom boat
trip is nice!
We enjoy doing experiment with apparatus
that are new to us. WWF staff has instructed
us beforehand.

Discussion

You can choose one of (but not limited to) the following topics for your school project, essay or research entry.

  • Our marine environment is facing many problems. Which one concerns you most and why? Let's discuss.
  • The Marine Stewardship Council promotes sustainable fisheries by labelling seafood that comes from an approved fishery where the harvest is known to be sustainable. Follow up on some internet searches to find out what happens in the case of an unsustainable fishery. Find out a little about aquaculture, and compare the advantages and disadvantages with wild catch fisheries. (Look up salmon and shrimp aquaculture).
